SWORD OF AREY
TURRET MODULE
The
Sword of Arey
turret module is designed to execute uninterrupted visual surveillance of the immediate terrain around the combat vehicle. It’s primary capability, however, is to search, detect, identify and acquire hostile targets. The module is also equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun, as well as launchers for smoke screen grenades.
The module is integrated into the
Checkmate
Combat Management System
and can be used as an auxiliary detection, acquisition and targeting unit for the main gun.
The
Sword of Arey
turret module is controlled remotely from either the commander’s or gunner’s station. The module is installed on the turret of the combat vehicle and can rotate 360 degrees.
Incorporated into the module are both of
Arey’s
proprietary visual surveillance systems —
Eagle Eye
and
Owl Eye
.

TARGET ACQUISITION
Either the commander or gunner can control the module remotely from their control stations. The module comes equipped with a built-in stabilization system, which dampens the effects of terrain or blast waves near the vehicle. The module also has its own tracking system.
The
Sword of Arey
module’s controller is programmed with a ballistic algorithm designator, which automatically calibrates the target point, while taking into account ballistic and meteorological conditions, as well as the distance to the target. Once the target is acquired, the controller’s system makes continuous corrections, taking into account the angular movement of the combat vehicle, the turret, the module itself or the target.
